Volunteer Coordinator - Mass Young Gunners

Position Overview:

The Volunteer Coordinator for the Mass Young Gunners is a vital role responsible for recruiting, managing, and supporting volunteers for various club events and activities. This position involves organizing volunteer schedules, providing training, and ensuring that volunteers are motivated and appreciated. The Volunteer Coordinator works closely with other staff members to ensure that all events run smoothly and successfully.

Key Responsibilities:

1) Recruit and Manage Volunteers for Club Events:

  • Identify volunteer needs for upcoming events and activities.

  • Actively recruit volunteers through various channels, including community outreach, social media, and club communications.

  • Maintain a database of volunteers, ensuring accurate records of their contact information, availability, and skills.

2) Organize Volunteer Schedules:

  • Create and manage volunteer schedules for events, practices, games, and other club activities.

  • Ensure that all volunteer roles are filled and that volunteers are aware of their responsibilities.

  • Communicate schedules and expectations clearly to all volunteers.

3) Ensure Volunteers are Trained and Supported:

  • Develop and implement training programs for new volunteers.

  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to volunteers, addressing any questions or concerns.

  • Recognize and appreciate the contributions of volunteers through regular communication and appreciation events.

5) Qualifications:

  • Excellent Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and keep track of various details related to volunteer coordination.

  • Strong People Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and motivate volunteers.

  • Experience in Volunteer Management: Previous experience in managing volunteers or similar roles is preferred.

  • Ability to Lead a Team: Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and lead a team of volunteers.

  • Effective Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to volunteers and staff.

  • Proficiency in Office Software: Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, and other office software for administrative tasks.
