Assistant Coach - Mass Young Gunners
Position Overview:
The Assistant Coach for the Mass Young Gunners plays a supportive and essential role in the development and success of our youth soccer teams. This position involves assisting the Head Coach during training sessions and games, aiding in player development, and helping to organize team events. The Assistant Coach works closely with the Head Coach to ensure that all players receive the guidance and support they need to improve their skills and enjoy their soccer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Support Head Coach in Training Sessions and Games:
Assist the Head Coach in planning and conducting training sessions.
Provide hands-on support during practices, including setting up drills and exercises.
Help manage the team during games, offering tactical advice and ensuring player rotations.
2) Assist with Player Development:
Work individually with players to enhance their technical skills and understanding of the game.
Provide constructive feedback to players to help them improve.
Support the Head Coach in identifying areas for player development and creating personalized training plans.
3) Help Organize Team Events:
Assist in the planning and execution of team events, such as tournaments, camps, and social activities.
Coordinate logistics for events, including transportation, accommodations, and scheduling.
Ensure that events run smoothly and contribute to team building and player enjoyment.
5) Qualifications:
Coaching Experience or Certification Preferred: Previous experience in coaching youth soccer is preferred. A coaching certification from a recognized organization (e.g., US Soccer, NSCAA) is a plus.
Ability to Work Well with Children: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and motivate young athletes.
Strong Leadership Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey instructions and feedback.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Coach, other staff members, and volunteers.
